common perception that Twitter is used primarily for social
purposes, documenting trivial aspects of individuals'
lives. But a closer look shows a rich universe of
corporate Twitter usage, ranging from brand-building, diffusion, advertising,
sales promotions, new product introductions, to name but a few.
And,
interestingly, Fortune 500 companies are blazing new trails with Twitter, a far
cry from the early days of the web that found many large companies
lagging.
